Meditation Building – Buddhist Temple

Leawarra Town Planning secured approval for a new 260sqm meditation building within the Nan Hai Pu Tuo Buddhist Temple precinct in Emerald. The development also included 15 new parking spaces, a new driveway with security gates, and vegetation removal to enable construction.

The site sits in the Green Wedge Zone and is affected by Environmental Significance and Bushfire Management Overlays. These overlapping controls required a careful balance between biodiversity protection and bushfire safety. Our team worked closely with Cardinia Shire Council and specialist consultants through detailed assessment and consultation.

Despite the complex planning context, the proposal achieved a well-supported outcome that enhances the temple's facilities and community presence. The project demonstrates our ability to guide sensitive developments through challenging environmental frameworks while maintaining a focus on quality and purpose-driven design.
